Mrugen Rathod's practice is rooted in nuanced journaling of observations particularly around the impact of human intervention on natural landscapes. Mrugen approaches the relationship between the individual, community, society, and the environment through documentation of cues and markers of the site of investigation. Rathod’s artworks, which are largely centered around ecology, use humor and allegory to comment on social, political and cultural issues, such as depleting natural resources. His interdisciplinary practice consists of drawings, sculpture, and site specific installations and his process of documentation involves extensive travel.
